Early Departures
Early Morning Gatwick Flight? Oxford Taxi Guide
A lot of Gatwick departures, especially on budget and leisure carriers, leave before 7am. Book your pickup with enough margin for both the drive and the airport's own pre-flight process — traffic itself is rarely the sticking point at that hour.
The Car
Estate car, 6 seater or 8 seater
The estate car takes 4 passengers plus 3 large suitcases and hand luggage. Groups of 5 or 6 can book the 6 seater, and groups of 7 or 8 the 8 seater, which takes 8 large suitcases.
Why early flights are common at Gatwick
Gatwick handles a large slate of leisure and short-haul routes, many scheduled early in the morning so aircraft and crews can fit in multiple rotations across a day. Flying with a leisure or budget carrier, an early departure is the norm rather than the exception.
Traffic isn't usually the issue this early
For a flight departing before 7am, your pickup lands well ahead of the M25's morning rush, so the roads themselves are rarely the limiting factor. The real consideration is making sure the pickup time itself leaves enough margin for check-in, bag drop and security once you're there.
Same fixed price, whatever the hour
There's no early-morning or unsociable-hours surcharge on our fixed fare — £139 to Gatwick holds whether pickup is 3am or 3pm. Book with your flight time and terminal, and we'll work back from there to set the pickup time.

Is there an extra charge for a very early pickup? +
No. The fixed price is the same at any time of day or night.
Is traffic bad at 3am or 4am on the way to Gatwick? +
No, traffic is generally very light at that hour. The main planning consideration is leaving enough time for the airport's own check-in and security process once you arrive.
